SOVA is the local food pantry providing free groceries and supportive services to those in need. To learn more about SOVA, visit http://www.jfsla.org/sova.
Following their time at SOVA, the delegation and their 8th grade hosts joined the Kadima community at Sukkot B'Yachad (Together), the annual Kadima Sukkot gathering. On Tuesday, both OYS and KDS students visited the Gentle Barn (http://www.gentlebarn.org), an animal rescue organization with the goal of teaching people kindness and compassion to animals, each other and the planet. This activity was tied to the trip theme of 'Truth Springs fro the Earth: Nature as Teacher."
This morning, students are off to the Brandeis Institute for a day of hiking and team building, while learning about the Jewish camp experience.
